The 33rd Induction Ceremony for the National Mining Hall of Fame was originally scheduled to be celebrated at a banquet in Lone Tree, Colorado on October 24, 2020. With COVID-19 forcing restrictions and cancellations of in-person events, our staff and Board were determined to find another solution that would not simply function as another online virtual meeting. Deciding to broadcast the event on a variety of social media platforms, the NMHFM engaged BCC Live out of Boulder, Colorado to produce a professional program.
On October 24th, the National Mining Hall of Fame added five new inductees to its ranks, and presented the Prazen Living Legend Award to the following:
Alberto Benavides
Dr. Roshan B. Bhappu
Hugh W. Evans
Raymond W. Threlkeld
Dr. Spencer R. Titley
Prazen Living Legend of Mining Award Recipient: MEC (Minerals Education Coalition), part of SME's foundation that provides educational programs and resources to public.
