Anyone may nominate a candidate for induction into the Hall of Fame, but every nomination must be submitted using the official National Mining Hall of Fame and Museum (NMHFM) Nomination Form. Members of the Board of Governors and the Board of Directors of the NMHFM may not nominate or endorse candidates for induction into the Hall of Fame.
If you wish to submit a nomination, you must use the official Nomination Form. This form can be downloaded from the NMHFM website. Alternatively, you may telephone the NMHFM and request that a copy of the Nomination Form be mailed to you. A photocopy of the form is also acceptable. Nominations must be submitted to the address listed below by December 31 of the year prior to consideration for induction.
Each nomination must contain the information requested on the Nomination Form. A checklist of the elements required for a complete nomination package is included as Section 4 of the Nomination Form. If you have questions, please contact the NMHFM Nominations Chair at nominations@mininghalloffame.org or the National Mining Hall of Fame and Museum Executive Director at director@mininghalloffame.org. The phone number is 719-486-1229.
Hall of Fame Inductees will be selected by the NMHFM Board of Governors, and ratified by the NMHFM Board of Directors, whose decisions are final. Inductees will be notified as soon after their selection as possible using the contact information provided by the nominator as requested on the Nomination Form. Once the Inductees have been notified, the nominators of unsuccessful nominations will also be notified. Unsuccessful nominations will be reconsidered for two additional years (each nominee is potentially considered for three years total). If a nomination remains unsuccessful after three years of consideration, the nomination may be revised, updated, and resubmitted for future consideration up to two additional times (each time the nomination is submitted, it will again be considered for three years, for a potential total consideration of nine years).
Submissions should be sent to: The National Mining Hall of Fame & Museum Attn: Nominations Chair P.O. Box 981 120 W. 9th St. Leadville, CO 80461 OR nominations@mininghalloffame.org

Leadville is an amazing day trip for those looking to explore the mountains and learn about Colorado's mining history. Definitely, do not miss this museum! While you're here, go check out the Matchless Mine, a great piece of history that's been preserved
